Interested In Helping Us Expand?

With line of site technology we can’t always serve a given community area 100%. With your help maybe we can get closer! It is not uncommon that we installed your home but couldn’t install your neighbor down the street due to obstructions or elevation changes. If you have land that is available for a small tower we are interested in discussing options to supplement your service while helping to expand our coverage area within your community. Your property will need to meet several qualifications to be considered a viable spot for a tower. ?To find out more CALL US TODAY at 855.NXT.LINK (855.698.5465).

Nextlink Tower Installation – FAQs

How tall will the tower be?

Typically our towers range from 50 feet to 150 feet depending on the nearby topography, trees and needs of each individual site.

How much space do you need on the ground?

For our smallest towers, we can get by with just a 7 foot by 7 foot area. For the towers as big as 150 feet, we prefer to have an area of 30 feet by 30 feet.

How do you secure the tower?

NextLink will install a “No Climb” ladder cover and lock on the first 10 feet of the ladder.

Do you use guy wires?

For the height of our towers, we do not need guy wires. Guy wires are typically needed on towers taller than 150 feet.

Is there the 24 hour glowing red light?

At even our tallest height tower we install, the FAA does not require the towers to be lit for aviation safety purposes. The vast majority of the towers that you see with the red lights are usually well over 200 feet tall. The exception to this would be close proximity to any airport. We will qualify this when the site is initially surveyed.

How long does it take to install?

Usually we can prepare the site for tower install and have the tower erected within a week of starting.

What site requirements do you require?

We strongly prefer to have access to power at the tower site. If that is not possible, we have alternate power scenarios we can use with solar panels.

What lease arrangements with the land owner does Nextlink require?

Because of the substantial cost Nextlink incurs to install the tower, we require a long term land lease from the land owner with options to extend. In return, we provide owners who occupy the land we are using for the tower with free high speed internet service with no installation charge.
